01 / THE CODE

Character is a decision under pressure.

It is easy to say what matters when nothing is at stake. The test comes when keeping your word costs time, comfort, or approval.

What did you do the last time a shortcut appeared?
02 / LEARNING TARGET

Move from values to behavior.

By the end, you will turn three values into actions someone could actually observe, choose a response to pressure, and document whether you followed through.

A value becomes useful when it changes a decision.
03 / A REAL CHOICE

The deadline is slipping.

You promised a client a Friday draft. On Thursday you realize it needs more work. The easy move is to disappear or call an incomplete draft finished. The character move is to tell the truth early, propose a new deadline, and deliver.

Honesty includes the next responsible action.
04 / THE METHOD

Name it. Define it. Prove it.

Name the value: integrity. Define the behavior: I tell the person affected as soon as I know I may miss a deadline. Prove it: record the message, revised commitment, and completed work.

Evidence beats a good intention.
05 / WORKED EXAMPLE

Make your code observable.

Vague: I am reliable. Clear: Every Sunday by 6 p.m., I review the coming week and confirm every appointment I own. If a conflict appears, I contact the person within 24 hours.

Could someone else tell if you did it?
06 / WHEN YOU MISS

Repair, then redesign.

Do not hide the miss. Acknowledge it without excuses, repair any harm you can, identify the trigger, and change the system. Put a calendar block or reminder where the failure began.

Accountability is a practice, not a performance.
07 / YOUR PRACTICE

Write three commitments.

Choose one commitment for work, one for family or community, and one for yourself. For each, write the action, deadline, evidence, and what you will do if you miss it.

Use: I will ___ by ___; evidence will be ___.
08 / CLOSING CHARGE

Do the next honest thing.

The assignment is not to claim a perfect character. It is to create a code you can test for seven days. Bring the evidence, the miss, and the correction to your review.

Character + action + evidence.
GRADED KNOWLEDGE CHECK

Test the principle.

Answer all five questions. Four correct answers meet the 80% standard. Answers are scored and saved on the server for enrolled learners; retakes are allowed after reviewing feedback.

1. Which commitment is observable?
2. You may miss a promised deadline. What is the strongest first response?
3. Which evidence best demonstrates follow-through?
4. After a missed commitment, what completes accountability?
5. Why define a personal code in behaviors?

STRUCTURED APPLICATION / MODULE 01

Turn the lesson into an action.

Write a personal code with three observable commitments. Record seven days of evidence, one miss, and the correction.

Each of the five fields is worth 20 completeness points. A response needs at least 30 characters; the date must be today or later. These checks do not judge whether the work is effective or whether you completed the action in real life.
